Beth's Nails - Fire Ombre

Fire Ombre

I think the ombre nail art trend is really beautiful, it can be done with any colours you like and is perfect for creating a look that’s just a little bit special without having to put in too much effort! The best thing about this effect is that it’s really easy to do! All you’ll need is a few polishes of your choice and some makeup sponges.

First paint all your nails white as this will give a clean base to work on and will make the colours much brighter. Next paint stripes of red, orange and yellow on a makeup sponge and while this is still wet, role or dab the sponge on the nail so the polish is transferred. You may have to do this a couple of times on each nail to make the colours opaque. Make sure you’re blending the colours together as you dab them on the nail to create the ombre effect. You may find that you get a lot of polish on the skin around your nails when you do this, when you’re done just clean up with a cotton bud dipped into polish remover.

If you’re planning to try this out I’d recommend the wedge shaped makeup sponges as they have a flat edge to work on, but any sponge will do! I find that different shades of the same colour work really well for creating a smooth blended look, it looks great with blues and silver, or cream, brown and copper.
Hope you give this a go! More next week :)
